MINUTES
WAUPACA COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE COMMISSION
January 15, 2014
- The regular meeting of the Waupaca
County Veterans Service Commission was called to order, 3:00 PM. Commissioners
present included Mr. James Goeser, Ms. Brandy Suprise, and Ms. Judy Deschler.
- Open Mtg. Notice had been provided in
accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes.
- After the Sep 25, 2013 minutes were reviewed
a motion was made by Surprise and seconded by Deschler to approve the
minutes. Roll call vote: Goeser-aye, Suprise-aye and Deschler-aye, Motion
carried.
- A motion was made by Suprise and
seconded by Deshler to go into closed session per WI State Statutes, Sec.
19.85(1) (f). Roll call vote: Goeser-aye, Suprise-aye and Deschler-aye,
Motion carried.
- Veterans Service Commission Grant
applications were reviewed. A motion was made by Goeser and seconded by
Deschler to accept the applications. Roll call vote: Goeser-aye, Suprise-aye
and Deschler-aye, Motion carried.
- A motion was made by Goeser and
seconded by Suprise to return to open session. Roll call vote:
Suprise-aye, Goeser-aye and Deschler-aye. Motion carried.
- A motion was made by Goeser and
seconded by Deschler to accept Commission Budget & Disbursement
Report. Roll call vote: Goeser-aye, Suprise-aye and Deschler-aye. Motion
carried.
- Correspondence/Announcements –None.
- Unfinished Business – Issues with the
Veterans’ Program at the County Fair were discussed, i.e, donations needed
to cover admission/lunch ticket costs. Guest Dave Johnson of the Waupaca
County Fair Board was present.
- New Discussion without Action – Changes
to the Veterans Service Commission policies may be forth coming to allow
funds for needy families during the winter holidays. CVSO Knutson was
tasked to find out if year- end remaining funds get rolled into the next
year’s budget
- Next Meeting will be held May 14, 2014
@ 3:00 PM, Waupaca Courthouse, 3rd Floor, CVSO Office.
- A motion was made to adjourn, at 4:00 PM,
by Suprise and seconded by Goeser. Roll call vote: Goeser-aye, Suprise-aye
and Deschler-aye. Motion carried.
