MINUTES

WAUPACA COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE COMMISSION

January 27, 2012

1. The regular meeting of the Waupaca County Veterans Service Commission was called to order, 1:30 PM.  Commissioners present included, Mr. Gerald Connolly, Ms. Brandy Surprise and Mr. James Goeser.

2. Open Mtg. Notice had been provided in accordance with Wisconsin State Statutes.

3. As the December, 2011 minutes were reviewed a motion was made by Connolly and seconded by Suprise to approve the minutes.  Roll call vote: Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried.

4. A motion was made by Connolly and seconded by Goeser to go into closed session per WI State Statutes, Sec. 19.85(1) (f).  Roll call vote:  Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried.

5. Veterans Service Commission Grant applications were reviewed.  A motion was made by Suprise and seconded by Goeser to accept the applications.  Roll call vote:  Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried.

6. A motion was made by Connolly and seconded by Suprise to return to open session.  Roll call vote:  Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried. 

7. A motion was made by Suprise and seconded by Connolly to accept Service Officer’s Report.  Roll call vote:  Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried. 

8. A motion was made by Connolly and seconded by Goeser to accept Commission Budget & Disbursement Report.  Roll call vote: Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried. 

9. Correspondence/Announcements – CVSO Knutson discussed using purveyors, when needed, to help prevent repetitive grant requests.  The new Veteran Service Grant Application will be used, with the addition of a “Grant Amount” area added in.  Commissioner Goeser will make the revision of the form and email it to the CVSO. It was agreed that Veteran Commissioner Meetings will be held three times per year.                                                                                                                                                                    
10. Unfinished Business – None.

11. New Discussion without Action –Discussion was held regarding getting the Veteran Service Office on Face book.  The CVSO will check to ensure it is permissible.

12. Next Meeting will be held May 18, 2012 @ 1:30 PM, Waupaca Courthouse, 3^rd Floor, CVSO Office.

13. A motion was made to adjourn, at 3:15 PM, by Connolly and seconded by Suprise.  Roll call vote:  Connolly-aye, Goeser-aye and Suprise-aye, Motion carried.
