SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD

MEETING MINUTES

July 14, 2014

                                                                                                                                    Courthouse, Waupaca

Chair Sorensen called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

Present:           Jeff Dyer, Nancy Koeppen, Joe McClone, Carl Kietzmann, Maryann Snider, Gene Sorensen, Fred Zaug, Ken Van Dyke, and Joyce Boyer

Also Present:   Roger Holman, Pat Bruneau and Debbie Krogwold

Sorensen gave the open meeting statement.

Motion by Boyer, seconded by Koeppen to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

Motion by Boyer, seconded by Van Dyke to approve the June 9, 2014 minutes.  Motion carried.

Sorensen opened the meeting for public comment.  There was none.

There was no correspondence for Board action.

There were no meeting/committee reports.

Due to the fact that Bruneau and Krogwold were delayed, Holman proceeded to report on item N, Management Team Update.  Holman reported the Management Team is working on Department Head evaluations, CIP and 2015 budget.

Bruneau updated the Board on the issuing of bids for a compactor and boxes.  Bruneau explained that the compacter bid includes a pre-crusher to provide for better compacting and reduce material getting stuck in the boxes.  Bruneau stated the bids are due August 4^th. 

Holman reviewed the draft letter and resolution requesting the state fully funds the recycling program.  Discussion followed with Van Dyke and Snider agreeing to work on the letter and resolution with Krogwold.

Krogwold handed out the sign-up sheet for the County Fair booth.  Krogwold explained the responsibilities of people working at the booth.

The next meeting was set for August 11, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.

Motion by Zaug, seconded by Koeppen to adjourn.  Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 4:35 p.m.
