WAUPACA COUNTY PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE

MINUTES – February 13, 2015

 

Chr. Johnson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and gave the open meeting statement.

 

Roll call.   Suprs. Johnson, Zaug, Spierings and Rohan present.  Supr. Boyer was excused.   Others present:  Steve Hart and Tom Claussen.

 

Review and Approve agenda.  Motion:  Supr. Rohan moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Minutes-January 9, 2015.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Rohan seconded the motion to approve the previous minutes.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Public Comment.  None.

 

Maintenance Updates – Tom Claussen, Maintenance Department.  

 

Energy Control & Design, Inc. HVAC Contract Renewal – 2015 renewal prices for the preventive maintenance contracts at the Jail and Courthouse are $35,863.00 for the Jail and $32,486.00 for the Courthouse.  $45,000 has been budgeted for the Jail and $42,500 for the Courthouse.  Any leftover budget funds would be used to replace the heating controls at the end of the year.  Motion:  Supr. Spierings moved and Supr. Rohan seconded the motion to approve the 2015 renewal prices.  Motion was carried without a negative vote.

 

Building Services Group, Inc. Contract Renewal – 2015 rate for cleaning the Courthouse is $154,800.00 and $4,680.00 for the Jail.  This represents a 2% increase over 2014.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Spierings seconded the motion approve the 2015 contract renewal rates.  Motion was carried without a negative vote.

 

Boiler at the Jail.  Tom explained that the Jail has 3 3 million BTU boilers currently, of which one of those is used for domestic hot water in the summer.  A more efficient 1 million BTU boiler for hot water will be purchased for $38,354.00, which includes the boiler, pumps, parts & labor, controls and start-up.  The Law Enforcement committee has authorized the purchase with funds from the jail budget.

 

Chair Johnson requested that the list of floor concerns be updated as work is completed.

 

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Spierings moved and Supr. Rohan seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 a.m.  Motion carried without a negative vote.
