WAUPACA COUNTY PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE

MINUTES – September 12, 2014

 

Chr. Johnson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and gave the open meeting statement.

 

Roll call.   Chr. Johnson, Suprs. Boyer, Zaug, Rohan and Supr. Spierings, all present.  Others present:  Mary Robbins and Leighton Trice.

 

Review and Approve agenda.  Motion:  Supr. Spierings moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to approve the agenda with adding Approval of previous minutes.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Minutes-August 13, 2014.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Rohan seconded the motion with correcting the amount for the frontline security buttons instead of $340,000 to the correct amount of $22,742.00.

Public Comment.  None.

 

Maintenance Updates – Leighton Trice, Maintenance Director.  

 

Gary Jahnke, Energy, Control & Design, Service Manager.   Mr. Jahnke explained how the HVAC systems work, their complications and settings.  He verified that it is State Code to have 10% fresh air exchange in a public building.  Leighton is consistently monitoring the situation.  The number of people, the type of lights we use now do not produce the heat they once did, a number of contributing factors in the distribution of heat and air in a building.

 

2015 Budget Line item adjustment.  Leighton explained that on Line Item b. Seal Coat Parking Lot – carryover of $15,000 to next year, since it is late and we may need a little more money in that budget and maybe it should be put in the Capital Improvement Projects budget.

 

Maintenance will not be putting in the shed they had requested, instead he would like to use this money to have the water pressure valve replaced.  Waupaca Plumbing gave a proposal of $5,000 to fix the problem.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to approve Leighton to hire Waupaca Plumbing to fix the water valve problem, not to exceed $6,000.00.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Spierings seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 a.m.  Motion carried without a negative vote.
