Woodland Hills Farmland Rental – County Treasurer Clyde Tellock has received a request from John & Mary Rieckmann to rent the undeveloped portion of the Woodland Hills subdivision, which the County now owns for nonpayment of taxes.  The Rieckmann’s had previously rented a small portion of the subdivision, about 14 acres.  The total undeveloped section is about 38 acres.  The Rieckmann’s offered $30 an acre with the understanding that because of power boxes and corner markers they would have to use no till on the land.  Motion:   Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to rent the undeveloped portion of Woodland Hills to John & Mary Rieckmann for $30 per acre on a 2 year contract with the option to renew yearly, that the County would not be liable for any injury, that if the land was sold the Rieckmann’s could harvest the crop, and the first half of the rent is due at planting time (April) and the second half of the rent is due at harvest (November).  The motion carried without a negative vote.

Farm Rental Land, Town of Royalton – Lakeview Manor removed a row of trees that were near a power line but the stumps and brush remains.  DuWayne Nickel, who rents the farmland, would be willing to remove the stumps and brush, which interferes with his farm equipment, at no cost to the County but in exchange would like to extend the length of his land rental contract and is willing to pay between $160-$170 an acre.  He would also like to sign the contract in the fall as opposed to the spring.  Chair Johnson will contact the Highway Department to get an estimate on having the stumps and brush removed by them.

Maintenance Updates – Leighton Trice.   No report.

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Rohan moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 a.m.  Meeting is adjourned.
