WAUPACA COUNTY PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE

MINUTES – January 9, 2014

 

Chr. Mares called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and gave the open meeting statement.

 

Roll call.   Chr. Mares, Suprs. Boyer, Johnson, Morgan-excused, and Zaug present.  Others present:  Leighton Trice, Chuck Price, and Mary Robbins.

 

Review and Approve agenda.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Review and Approve minutes.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the December meeting.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

No Public Comment.

  

 

OPEN BIDS FOR MCKINLEY HOUSE AND BEACON HOUSE.  Clerk Robbins opened the one bid received for McKinley House, 75 N. Park St. Clintonville, WI  54929 – Parcel No. 30-24-800-12

Bid received from Clarity Care, Inc. in the amount of $79,000.00

And a bid for Beacon House, 307 W. Cook St. New London, WI  54961 – Parcel No. 33-12-76-60. Bid received from Clarity Care, Inc. in the amount of $119,000.00.

 

No other bids were received.  These amounts are at the appraised value.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to approve both bids from Clarity Care in the total amount of $198,000.00.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

DHHS Director Chuck Price.  Thanked the committee and he informed them that the murals will be started Jan. 20th .  They discussed possibly making a storage room and a wrap around data counter with all the data hookups in one of the rooms that is now used basically for storage.  Mr. Price will bring this back to the committee when he has more firm plans. 

 

Maintenance Updates – Leighton Trice.   

 

Discussion on frontline security buttons for everyone across the hall on first floor by the main entrance.  The committee was in favor of this plan and allowed Leighton to check into pricing and options.  Legislative, Judicial, Ethics, Safety and Security Committee wants to do what is best for the security across the front.

 

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:32 a.m.  Meeting is adjourned.
