WAUPACA COUNTY PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE

MINUTES – August 8, 2013

 

Chr. Mares called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and gave the open meeting statement.

 

Roll call.   Chr. Mares, Suprs. Boyer, Johnson, Morgan, and Zaug present. Others present:  Steve Hart, Clyde Tellock, Chuck Price, Gene Ruppert, Sue Mohr, and Leighton Trice.

 

Review and Approve agenda.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Review and Approve minutes.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, July 11, 2013.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

No Public Comment

 

WCI Remodeling.  WCI Manager Gene Ruppert reviewed the plan to open a company store at WCI and to make WCI a more welcoming place.  The company store would give clients the opportunity to learn to greet customers and work with money.  The vending machines would then be removed.  The company store would be located where the main office is now and the main office would be relocated to the lunchroom area.  Plans have to be drawn up with cost estimates.  DHHS Director Chuck Price will keep the committee informed on the progress.

 

In-Rem Property.  County Treasurer Clyde Tellock reported that the Treasurer’s Office has received bids for 5 parcels—a bid from Dave & Connie Baldwin in the amount of $6,000 for Lot 44 in Foxfire Country Estates in the City of Waupaca, a bid from Jim & Sue Mohr in the amount of $6,500 for Lot 47 in Foxfire Country Estates in the City of Waupaca, and bids from John & Jeannie Brendel in the amount of $6,100 for Lot 44, $5,800 for Lot 5, and $5,800 for Lot 6 in Foxfire Country Estates in the City of Waupaca.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to have the County Treasurer accept all the bids for a total of $30,200.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

RFP’s for Courthouse Roof Project.  Two proposals were received.  NCW Exteriors in the amount of $155,000 and Oshkosh Industrial Roofing & Sheet Metal in the amount of $161,475.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to accept the proposal from NCW Exteriors in the amount of $155,000.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Review Insurance Claim Form.  The committee reviewed the form.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to approve the insurance claim form for property damage.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Maintenance Updates – Leighton Trice.

 

a.    Strategic Planning Presentation.  Will be presented at the September meeting.

b.    Verizon Tower.  Nothing to report.

c.    Seal Coating the Parking Lot.  Leighton is working on getting a quote.

d.    Cleaning Staff Update.  Leighton informed the committee of a situation involving one of the cleaning staff.  

 

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 a.m.  Meeting is adjourned.
