WAUPACA COUNTY PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE

MINUTES – May 9, 2013

 

Chr. Mares called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and gave the open meeting statement.

 

Roll call.   Chr. Mares, Suprs. Boyer, Johnson, Morgan, and Zaug present. Others present:  Lori Linde, Charles A. Von Deck, Clyde Tellock, Mary Robbins, Bev Hall, Melissa Stoiber and Leighton Trice.

 

Review and Approve agenda.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Review and Approve minutes.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, April 11th.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

WIC Farmers Market – East Courthouse Parking Lot.  Bev Hall, DHHS and Melissa Stoiber, HR requested that on Tuesday’s they would be able to have local farmers set up a fresh farm produce market.  This would help the Women, Infant & Children program when they come in they are issued vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables.  It may only be a half a day.  They will work with Leighton to set up the best place to locate the Farmer’s Market.  They will need to have a certificate of insurance from the farmers participating.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Morgan seconded the motion to approve with the City of Waupaca’s approval.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

In-Rem Property – Co. Treasurer Clyde Tellock.

 

We received a proposal from Lori Linde and Charles A. Von Deck, P.O. Box 267, Shawano WI 54166, for a property located in the Town of Larrabee, Sec. 1, address E9597 County RD DD.  This was one of the properties that was advertised earlier and received no bid.  They would like to offer $3,500.00.  There is a lot of work to the property and it has a failing septic system that they will have to repair.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to have the County Treasurer accept the bid in the amount of $3,500.00.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Foxfire Lot 41, Parcel #34-26-70-41, Jeff Hollnbacher, P.O. Box 367, Waupaca, WI  54981 submitted a proposal to purchase this lot for $2,000.00 earnest check and $4,000 to be paid in cash for a total amount of $6,000.00.  Motion:   Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to accept the offer of $6,000.00 for Lot #41 of Foxfire Subdivision, $2,000 down and $4,000.00 cash.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Maintenance Updates – Leighton Trice.

 

a.     Verizon Tower.  Andy Carlin is working with Verizon Tower; they would like to possibly build a new tower in our East Parking lot.  Leighton will keep the committee updated.

b.    UPS at Jail.  Tentative installation will be the 21st or 28th of this month for a cost of $5,000.00.

c.    Strategic Plan.  This is in draft stage and as soon as they have it complete he will share the information with the committee.  Leighton said that it was very helpful to himself and his staff.

d.    Leighton talked about touring other board rooms with Clerk Robbins, perhaps Shawano County and/or Oconto County.

 

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:35 a.m.  Meeting is adjourned.
