WAUPACA COUNTY PUBLIC PROPERTY COMMITTEE

MINUTES – September 13, 2012

 

Chair Lloyd Mares called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. and gave the open meeting statement.

 

Roll call.   Chr.  Mares, Suprs. Boyer, Johnson, Morgan--excused and Zaug, all present.  Others present:  Leighton Trice, Mary Robbins, Julie Giefer, Terrie Tews and Clyde Tellock.

 

Review and Approve agenda.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr.  Zaug seconded the motion to approve the revised agenda.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Review and Approve minutes.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

IN-REM PROPERTY-OPEN BIDS. Clyde Tellock.  Clyde brought the committee up to date on properties that were not bid on or had questions on.

 

Parcel No. 30-26-86-5 Ginger Court, Clintonville. This property fronts on County Highway I.  Jeff Larsen said he would take it off the County’s hands and put it back on the tax roll for $1,000.00.  Motion:  Supr. Zaug moved and Supr. Johnson seconded the motion to accept the offer from Mr. Jeffrey Larsen in the amount of $1,000.00.  The motion was carried without a negative vote.

 

Parcel No. 34-20-70-77: 706 Hibbard StMotion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion authorizing the County Clerk and County Treasurer after checking with the City of Waupaca one final time to sell this property to Jeff Larsen for $200.00.  The motion carried without a negative vote. This house is damaged beyond repair and would cost more to demolish it than the property is worth.

 

Listing No. 6, Parcel #02-26-12-8, E9177 School Road, Readfield, Town of Caledonia.  Waupaca County received a bid from Lowell F. Brusewitz, P. O. Box 117, Readfield, WI  54969.  This property the person has not vacated, Mr. Brusewitz withdrew his offer.

 

Listing No. 7, Parcel #30-23-79-13, 25 E. 12th St., Clintonville.  Mr. Roger Steinbach offered $200.00 for the property.  The county would like at least $500 plus the recording cost of the property in the amount of $530.00.  Motion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to counter off final offer of $330 to include the closing costs.   The motion carried.  The committee instructed Clyde Tellock to let Mr. Steinbach know of this counter offer and if agreed the Treasurer is authorized to make it final.

 

Concerning the City of New London issue, County Treasurer Tellock will contact the City Administrator Kent Hager to try to work out a solution.

 

Maintenance Updates – Leighton Trice.    He will present his budget to the committee at the October 11th meeting; it will fall after the Finance & HR Committee meeting.

 

Courtroom Sound Systems.  They would like a good sound system that will work in all 3 courtrooms, each mike and there are 7 of them will cost approx. $170.00 each  this may have to be a future CIP project along with the speaker system/voting system in the County Board room.

 

Painting projects in Courthouse OfficesMotion:  Supr. Johnson moved and Supr. Boyer seconded the motion to create a policy for painting of office walls  that if you hire outside of the county you will need to pay for the painting projects out of an approved budget line item in that departments budget and have an approved color scheme by maintenance and appealable to the committee.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

The committee authorized Leighton to contact SGTS, Harold Grimm to obtain pricing on the courtroom sound system.

 

Adjourn.  Motion:  Supr. Boyer moved and Supr. Zaug seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:04 a.m.  Meeting is adjourned.
