MEETING MINUTES

                                                                                                                                    Courthouse, Waupaca

 

Chair McClone called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

 

Present: Joe McClone, Dona Gabert, Lee Much, and Gene Sorensen

 

Also Present:     Chris Klein, John Francis and Roger Holman

 

McClone gave the open meeting statement.

 

Motion by Sorenson seconded by Much to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Gabert, seconded by Much to approve the December 3, 2013 minutes.  Motion carried.

 

There was no correspondence for Committee action.

 

McClone opened the meeting for public comment. 

 

Chris Klein, Town of Dayton Chair, raised issues regarding the Little Hope Dam.  After a brief discussion, Holman recommended that all discussion stop and Klein refer his concerns to Corporation Council as directed by Council to Klein in a letter dated November 6, 2013.

 

Holman discussed the Parking issues at Dake Lake and the Town of Dayton’s solution of allowing parking on Long Cove Road, with the County being able to enforce the County Park ordinance in the designated area.  Klein explained the area that would be designated for parking with the Towns recommendations for enforcement by the County.

 

Holman explained that the Dake Lake boat launch lease agreement could be amended to allow for Park ordinance enforcement on Long Cove Road.  Holman was directed to provide the amendment for the Town of Dayton’s review.

 

Klein explained the Town is interested in discussing the County taking over management of Marl, Knight, Spencer, and Stratton Lake boat launches.  Discussion followed with Holman noting that public input is very important.

 

The Committee agreed to continue the discussion on possible management by the County of the boat landings.

 

Francis handed out and reviewed the Fairgrounds and Parks projects and purchases proposed for 2014.

 

Holman reported the Management Team is working on Dept. Head evaluations, CIP, and waiting for direction on the County Board strategic plan questions.

 

Holman reported that 14 claims have been filed regarding the Little Hope Dam.  The County is waiting for direction from the WCA attorney on our response.

 

The next meeting was set for March 4 at 8:30 a.m.

 

Motion by Sorensen, seconded by Much to adjourn.  Motion carried.
