MEETING MINUTES

Chair McClone called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m.

 

Present:           Joe McClone, Dona Gabert, Lee Much, Donald Peterson, and Gene Sorensen

 

Also Present:   John Francis and Roger Holman

 

McClone gave the open meeting statement.

 

Motion by Much, seconded by Peterson to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Sorensen, seconded by Gabert to approve the September 3, 2013 minutes.  Motion carried.

 

There was no correspondence for Committee action.

 

McClone opened the meeting for public comment.  There was none.

 

Holman updated the Committee on the 2014 budget noting that currently it is at 3% with new positions to be reviewed by Human Resources Committee.

 

Francis and Holman reviewed the proposed 2014 year fees for the boat landings, parks, and fairgrounds.  The committee made the following adjustments.

 

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Much to switch to a window decal for the boat launch annual pass and set additional passes at $10 per pass.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Sorensen, seconded by Gabert to set a $50 reservation fee for Keller and the Little Wolf Park shelters.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Sorensen, seconded by Peterson to study developing campgrounds in the County Parks.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Much, seconded by Peterson to set the camping fees at Vic-To-Rae to $40 per night, per cabin, a $100 security deposit and a $20 cancellation fee if before 14 days.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Gabert to set a 2 tier system at the Fairgrounds for grounds and building rentals, for-profit and non-profit, and raise rental rates $25 per year for the next three years, starting in 2014. Motion carried.

 

Motion by Sorensen, seconded by Much to raise the fairgrounds camping fees to $20 per night if the user collects or $25 per night if Waupaca County collects.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Much to raise the storage rate scale by $20 per year for the next three years and $.10 per square foot for whole building storage for the next three years, both starting in 2014. Motion carried.

 

Holman updated the Committee on the Little Hope Dam removal project.  Holman stated he is writing a letter from the Committee to the County Board explaining the Committee decision and future plans for the site.

 

Francis updated the Committee on the Symco project, fairgrounds storage, truck and mowing bids and park stuff for the winter.

 

Holman reported the Management Team is working on 2014 budget, evaluations and CIP.

 

The next meeting was set for November 5 at 8:30 a.m.

 

Motion by Peterson, seconded by Gabert to adjourn.  Motion carried.
