NATURAL RESOURCES FOUNDATION

Vice President Sambs called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

 

Present:           Pat Phair, Dan Sambs, Clyde Tellock, Jim Hlaban, Robert Besaw, Mike Mazemke, Larry Dieck, Joe McClone, Ben Durfee, AL Wichmann, Roger Holman (Jay Sturm and Linda Kassera were excused).

 

Also Present:   Cronies Trail Crew – Darrin Mann, Ann Casamassa, Wanda Jenson, and Jerry Tiffany.

 

Motion by Mazemke, seconded by Dieck to approve the agenda, moving the presentation of the Cronies Trail Crew to the top of the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Phair arrived at this time.

 

Holman introduce the members of the Cronies Trail Crew.  The Crew is looking to enter into a fiscal sponsorship agreement with the Foundation.  The Crew’s main goal at this time is to raise funds for a multi-use winter trail located on Waupaca High School property and the Wau-King Trail.

 

Darrin Mann presented a PowerPoint presentation explaining the Cronies Trail Crew, past achievements and the proposal for the multi-use winter trail.  Mann, Ann Casamassa, Wanda Jenson and Jerry Tiffany answered questions on the Crew’s work at Hartman putting in a single track trail, purpose of the Crew, fund raising by the Crew, and how the winter trail would be developed and used.

 

Holman explained that the Cronies Trail Crew has filled out the Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement and is a good fit for the Foundations mission and vision.

 

Motion by Hlaban, seconded by Mazemke to enter into a Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement with the Cronies Trail Crew.  Motion carried.

 

Phair thanked the Crew for their presentation and noted that the Foundation members are looking forward to supporting their efforts.

 

Motion by Wichmann, seconded by Dieck to approve the October 16, 2013 minutes.  Motion carried.

 

There was no correspondence for Board action.

 

Tellock handed out and reviewed the Treasurers report.

 

Motion by Durfee, seconded by Sambs to approve the Treasurer report.  Motion carried.

 

There were no Committee reports. 

 

Holman updated the Board on the Waupaca Friends of Parks South Park Building project, Wichmann reported on the Clintonville Area Trails project, Hlaban reported on Little Wolf River Trail of Manawa Work, and Holman updated on the Sturgeon Trail and reported on the Weyauwega Area Trails group problems.

 

The next meeting was set for August 27, 2014 and there will be a tour of the South Park project, Waupaca Community Garden and the proposed multi-use winter trail on the Waupaca High School property.

 

Motion by Sambs, seconded by McClone to adjourn.  Motion carried.

 

The meeting adjourned at 4:45.
