President Phair called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

 

Present:            Pat Phair, Jim Simpson, Roger Pitt, Clyde Tellock, Ben Durfee, Roger Holman, Jim Hlaban, Larry Dieck, Dan Sambs.  Also a guest – Jack Rhodes from Waupaca Area Community Foundation.

 

Minutes of August 24, 2011 meeting approved.

 

Agenda approved.

 

Waupaca Ares Community Foundation:

Jack Rhodes, the Waupaca Area Community Foundation leader, spoke of his experiences. The Waupaca group affiliated with the much larger Fox Valley Community Foundation early on. Incorporated in 2004. They eventually merged with FVCF and gave up their 501-3© status and utilize FVCF’s registration and infrastructure support for tax filing, cutting checks, etc.

 

Correspondence:

None.

 

Treasurer’s report:

Financial reports through July 31, 2011 distributed. 2 new groups have affiliated with us in the last 3 months: Green Team Solar Project (Waupaca High School students) and Town of Union Park Fund.

 

Board Member Terms:

Motion made and passed unanimously for the slate of Tellock, Pitt, Sturm, and Durfee. These will be 3 year terms expiring in 2014.

 

Election of Officers:

Motion made and passed unanimously for 1 year terms:

President:         Pat Phair

V-President:      Dan Sambs

Treasurer:          Clyde Tellock

Secretary:         Jim Simpson

 

Finance Committee:

Motion made and passed to approve the revised fiscal partnership via email to all.

 

Project Committee:

Motion made and passed that WCNRF enter in to a fiscal partnership with the Town of Union Park Committee.

 

Public Relations Committee:

Holman will contact Mazemke to get out a press release and photo on the election of the new officers.

 

 

 

Presentations/Contacts:

Discussed potential relationship with WACF/FVCF as presented by Rhodes. Suggested we invite someone to come and talk to us about the money aspect of affiliating with these groups. Potentially start an endowment type fund to test the waters. Kassera (on the board of WACF) could be a contact to find the best person to speak to us.

 

Upcoming meeting:  Wednesday February 29th at 3:30 at Waupaca County Courthouse.
