President Phair called the meeting to order at 3:35 p.m.

 

Present:                  Pat Phair, Clyde Tellock, Ben Durfee, Roger Holman, Jim Hlaban, Larry Dieck, Dan Sambs, Joe McClone, and Jay Sturm.

 

Not present: Roger Pitt, Linda Kassera, and Mike Mazemke

 

Motion by Hlaban, seconded by McClone to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Hlaban, seconded by Dieck to approve the minutes of August 29, 2012 (the last minutes prepared by Jim Simpson).  Motion carried.

 

Tellock presented the Financial Report to the Board.  Discussion followed.

 

Motion by Hlaban, seconded by Dieck to approve the Treasurer’s report.  Motion carried.

 

The Board discussed the loss of Jim Simpson.  Phair noted that he was more than a Board member, he was a friend.

 

Motion by Dieck, seconded by Sambs to send $50 to the Jim Simpson memorial to be used as the family feels appropriate.  Motion carried.

 

Holman reported Kassera, Dieck, Sambs, and Mazemke’s terms on the Board are up.  Holman stated that Kassera and Mazemke have stated they are interested in continuing to serve.  Dieck and Sambs stated they were also interested.

 

Motion by Sturm, seconded by Hlaban to cast a unanimous ballot for Kassera, Dieck, Sambs, and Mazemke to succeed themselves on the Board.  Motion carried.

 

Discussion occurred on filling Jim Simpson’s position on the Board.  Board members indicated they would make contacts.

 

Discussion occurred on the current slate of officers, with all agreeing they were willing to continue to serve in their current positions.  Hlaban stated he would be willing to serve as Secretary replacing Jim Simpson.

 

Motion by Sturm, seconded by McClone to suspend the rules and cast a unanimous ballot for all officers to succeed themselves with Hlaban replacing Jim Simpson as Secretary.  Motion carried.

 

There were no Committee reports.

 

Holman updated the Board on the Waupaca Friends Group, easement program, scarifier, and Clintonville trail work.

 

Phair reported on the Waupaca Community Garden and how they have been working with other Communities.  They are currently looking at developing gardens in other Communities.

The next meeting was set for March 27 at 3:30 p.m.

 

Motion by Sambs, seconded by Dieck to adjourn.  Motion carried.

 

The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.
