LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

17 December 2013  

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 8:07 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors  Craig,Handrich, and  Johnson. Aasen arrived after adjournment.  Others present: Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger, Captain Rasmussen, Lt. Russell, Captain Wilz, Carlin.

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

No persons from Public for input

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich to approve the minutes of the November 5, 2013 meeting of the Law Enforcement Committee.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Chairman Jonely to approve the agenda. Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Craig, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Communications Center update reported by Cpt. Wilz, that they are creating an eligibility list and three new telecommunicators will start in January.  They are being helped from other departments to staff the center.  

            Corrections Division update reported by Lt. Russell, that they are interviewing for the eligibility list; one from corrections has moved to patrol

            Cpt. Rasmussen reported on Patrol division statistics.  Motion by Supervisor Johnson, second by Chairman Jonely to approve the report.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Sheriff’s Office report was presented by Chief Deputy Kraeger.  Motion to approve the report by Supervisor Johnson, second by Supervisor Handrich.  Motion carried without a negative vote.  

            Sheriff Hardel reported changes in personnel.

Dance Hall permits approved were:  Boondocks Bar and Grill, Bear Lake Resort, Huckleberry Acres, Bean City Ballroom, Union Thresheree Grounds, Indian Crossing Casino, Cedar Springs, Wolf River Trips and Campgrounds.  Motion by Supervisor Craig, second by Supervisor Johnson and carried without a negative vote.

Supervisor Craig moved, Supervisor Handrich second to adjourn at 8:30 a.m.  Motion carried without a negative vote.
