LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

 September 17, 2013   

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors Johnson, Aasen, Craig and Handrich. Others present: Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger, Captains Rasmussen, Wilz, and Wogsland.   

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

No persons from Public for input.

            Motion by Supervisor Craig, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the minutes of the August 13, 2013 meeting of the Law Enforcement Committee with the amendment of Craig being present. Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Handrich, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried without negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve and sign the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Communications Center update reported by Captain Wilz, trainee has resigned and he is evaluating the process of interviewing and training.  The need for 3 in the center is crucial.

No Corrections or Detective Division news  

Patrol Division Update by Captain Rasmussen, presented monthly report.

Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to accept Patrol Report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Sheriff’s Office monthly report given by Sheriff Hardel for August 2013.  Motion by Supervisor Aasen, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve Sheriff’s Office report. Motion carried without a negative vote. 

Sheriff’s Report by Sheriff Hardel reported that it has been a very busy month.

A motion by Supervisor Craig, second by Supervisor Johnson to approve filling a New Detective Sergeant position  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

A motion by Supervisor Craig, second by Supervisor Handrich to replace the fingerprint computer with a new one.  Motion carried without negative vote. 

 

Motion by Supervisor Johnson second by Supervisor Handrich to replace 4 large, 3 small printer copy/fax/scanners.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Supervisor Aasen, moved Supervisor Craig second to approve the Huber fee increase from $20 to $25.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

There were no Dance Hall permits.

             

Motion by Supervisor Craig, seconded by Supervisor Handrich to adjourn at 8:38 a.m. Motion carried without a negative vote.
