LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

 August 13 2013   

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors Johnson, Aasen and Handrich. Others present: Captains Conat, Wilz, Wogsland and Sergeant Goode   

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

No persons from Public for input.

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2013 meeting of the Law Enforcement Committee. Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Handrich, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried without negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve and sign the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Communications Center update reported by Captain Wilz, that Sheri Gotto will be in training till September.  Only had 2 dispatchers working during the storm and the need for 3 working at all times is evident.

Corrections Division update reported by Captain Wogsland that Portage County Sheriff’s Office signed a 2 year contract for a minimum of 35 inmates with the option for a 3rd and 4th year renewal.  

 Detective Division update by Captain Conat revealed investigations in the Courthouse petty cash from various departments, robbery on Buelow Road north of New London, Drug Search Warrant for Bear Lake residence, body in burned car north of Iola, Wally World progressing.

Patrol Division Update by Sergeant. Goode, presented monthly report.

Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to accept Patrol Report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Sheriff’s Office monthly report given by Captain Adam Wogsland for July 2013.  Motion by Supervisor Aasen, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve Sheriff’s Office report. Motion carried without a negative vote. 

 

Sheriff’s Report by Captain Terry Wilz that the Sheriff and Chief Deputy are traveling to Oklahoma for an interview.

             Dance Hall Permit for Boondockers Bar and Grill in Symco was approved.  County Clerk Mary Robbins presented information on Dance Hall Permits from other Counties and will meet with Sheriff and Chief Deputy to update our ordinance.

Motion by Supervisor Aasen, seconded by Supervisor Handrich to adjourn at 9:44 a.m. Motion carried without a negative vote.
