LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

 June 11 2013   

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors Johnson, Aasen and Handrich. Others present: Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger, Captains Conat, WIlz, Rasmussen, Wogsland.   

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

No persons from Public for input.

            Motion by Supervisor Handrich, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the minutes of the April 9, 2013 meeting of the Law Enforcement Committee. Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried without negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve and sign the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Communications Center update reported by Captain Wilz that Kathleen Pool is leaving the Communications Center and has accepted Job with another agency.  Sheri Gotto was hired, and is presently working her way through the FTO program.

Corrections Division update reported by Captain Wogsland that Portage County Sheriff’s Office toured the jail.  They are exploring their options for housing inmates.

 Detective Division update by Captain Conat reported ongoing investigations on the Wally World shooting, child pornography case, and the Togstad case is continuing.

Patrol Division Update by Capt. Rasmussen, presented monthly report.

Motion by Supervisor Handrich, seconded by Supervisor Aasen, to accept Patrol Report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Sheriff’s Office monthly report given by Chief Deputy Kraeger for April 2013.  Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Jonely, to approve Sheriff’s Office report. Motion carried without a negative vote. 

 

Sheriff’s Report by Sheriff Hardel:

2 Officers will be attending K-9 training in Iowa for 2 weeks.

Preliminary budget for 2014 was discussed and will be ongoing.

           

Amendments of Prisoner Boarding Fees County Ordinance:

Repeal existing language in regards to booking fees of $25.00, and replace with $40.00

Add language in regards to inmates and prisoners sentenced to the jail serving weekend sentences shall be charged at a rate of $20.00 per day.

Motion by Supervisor Aasen, seconded by Supervisor Handrich to approve amendments of prisoner boarding fees.  Motion carried without negative vote. 

            Dance Hall Permits for Glen Carin golf course, Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Handrich.  Motion carried without negative vote.   

 

Motion by Supervisor Handrich, seconded by Supervisor Aasen to adjourn at 10:10 a.m. Motion carried without a negative vote.
