LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

 March 12 2013   

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors Johnson, Craig, Aasen and Handrich. Others present: Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger, Captains Wilz, Rasmussen, Wogsland, and Conat.

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

            Motion by Supervisor Handrich, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the minutes of the February 12, 2013 meeting of the Law Enforcement Committee. Motion carried without a negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Craig, seconded by Supervisor Aasen, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried without negative vote.

            Motion by Supervisor Craig, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve and sign the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Communications Center update by Capt Wilz reported that Kim Jaeger has moved from Communications Center to the Records Division.  Sheila Wolfgram has moved from the Records Division to Communications Center.

Corrections Division update by Capt Wogsland reported that there are interviews scheduled for this Thursday and Friday to create an eligibility list and to fill their 2 vacant positions.  New black embroidered uniform tops and black tactical pants will be implemented the first week of April for the Corrections Division.  Patrol Officers will have the option to wear the same black uniform with the brown uniforms still being mandatory for certain occasions.

Detective Division update by Capt Conat reported that they are very busy with robberies and ongoing cases.  A recent court case just wrapped up and was very successful.

Patrol Division Update by Capt. Rasmussen, presented monthly report, and reported that New Patrol Officer Josh Krueger will be starting Monday. 

Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Aason, to accept Patrol Report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

Chief Deputy’s monthly report presented. Motion by Supervisor Aason, seconded by Supervisor Handrich, to approve Chief Deputy Kraeger’s report. Motion carried without a negative vote. 

Sheriff’s Report by Sheriff Hardel:

            Touched on Kim Jaeger and Sheila Wolfgrams on their new positions.  Sheriff’s Office has created a facebook account.  Working on a new 10 year contract with Wood County Jail.  Very busy with the Togstad / Mumbrue case.

 

Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Aason to adjourn at 10:00 a.m. Motion carried without a negative vote.
