LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

13 March 2012

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors Flink, Sorensen, Johnson and Aasen. Others present: Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger, Captains Wilz, Olson and Conat.  

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

          Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the minutes of the previous meetings of the Law Enforcement Committee. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Sorensen, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Johnson, to approve the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Aasen, to approve Chief Deputy Kraeger’s report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Sorensen, to approve CPT Wilz’s report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

         

          Sheriff’s report (delivered by Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger and CPT Conat) commented on numerous burglaries, vehicles have been ordered, big drug bust, introduced two telecommunicators and Sheriff’s Group activities. Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Aasen to approve the Sheriff’s report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

          Tower update from Chief Deputy Kraeger – looking at a start up date in May 2012.

 

          Discussion concerning MABAS Resolution #30, led by Emergency Management Director Andrew Carlin. Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Sorensen to move the resolution on to the County Board. Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

          Shamrock Heights Dance Hall Application presented. Motion by Supervisor Johnson, seconded by Supervisor Aasen to approve the application. Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

          Update on Crazy J’s Campground Dance Hall Application – they are all paid up.

 

          Information regarding Waupaca/Verizon Tower Upgrade.

 

          Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Johnson to adjourn. Motion carried without a negative vote.
