LAW ENFORCEMENT MEETING

10 January 2012

            The Waupaca County Law Enforcement Committee was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Jonely. Members present: Supervisors Flink, Sorensen and Aasen (Supervisor Johnson excused). Others present: Sheriff Hardel, Chief Deputy Kraeger, Captains Wilz and Conat and Jack Berry-WDUX.

Chairman Jonely made the opening meeting statement that this meeting and all other meetings of this Committee are open to the public. Proper notice has been posted and given to the press in accordance with Wisconsin Statutes so that the citizenry may be aware of the time, place and agenda of this meeting.

          Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Aasen, to approve the minutes of the previous meetings of the Law Enforcement Committee. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Sorensen, seconded by Supervisor Flink, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Aasen, seconded by Supervisor Flink, to approve the bills as submitted. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Aasen, to approve Chief Deputy Kraeger’s report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

          Motion by Supervisor Sorensen, seconded by Supervisor Aasen, to approve CPT Wilz’s report. Motion carried without a negative vote.

         

          Dance Hall Permits were presented. Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Aasen to approve all permits. Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

          Discussion concerning Water Patrol & Reserve Deputy pay and billing – request that Water Patrol & Reserve Deputy pay increased by $.50/hour. Request that billing could be at $17.00/hour. Motion by Supervisor Aasen, seconded by Supervisor Flink to approve these increases. Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

          Discussion concerning inmate worker wage increase:  in an effort to offset the increase, Fresh Favorites will be offered more per month and with the increase the inmate workers have an opportunity to spend more on commissary, thus create more revenue.  Increase to $.40/hour recommended. Motion by Supervisor Sorensen, seconded by Supervisor Aasen to approve this increase. Motion carried without a negative vote.

         

Motion by Supervisor Flink, seconded by Supervisor Aasen to adjourn. Motion carried without a negative vote.
