WAUPACA COUNTY HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

October 22, 2013

 

The Waupaca County HR Committee met in the Waupaca County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m. in Room 1068.  Chair Gary Barrington called the meeting to order and gave the open meeting statement.  Roll Call: Chair Gary Barrington, County Board Chair Dick Koeppen, Supervisor Gerald Murphy, and Supervisor DuWayne Federwitz all present.  Administrative Coordinator/County Clerk Mary Robbins also present.

 

OPEN SESSION

 

MOTION:   Supervisor Murphy moved and County Board Chair Koeppen seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

No public comment.

 

A listing of current recruitments was discussed.  Currently there are 23 positions in some phase of the recruitment process.  In addition there are 5 new positions for 2014 to be filled.  There currently is beginning to be a substantial turnover at Lakeview Manor.

 

Discussion on the development of a Department Head evaluation process.  Charlie Carlson, of Carlson Dettmann consulting was present to assist in the discussion and offer thoughts on what they have been doing in assisting other counties with evaluation development.  Mandy presented items submitted for consideration by the department heads.  Also a draft evaluation form compiled by the department heads based on the form developed for employees was shared with the committee.  The department head committee also felt that a 360 evaluation component would be valuable.  A proposal for assistance in the development will be provided at a later date.

 

MOTION:  Supervisor Murphy moved and Supervisor Federwitz seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried without a negative vote.10:40 a.m.
