WAUPACA COUNTY HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

May 28, 2013

 

The Waupaca County HR Committee met in the Waupaca County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m. in Room 1037.  Chair Gary Barrington called the meeting to order and gave the open meeting statement.  Roll Call: Chair Gary Barrington, County Board Chair Dick Koeppen, Supervisor Gerald Murphy, and Supervisor DuWayne Federwitz all present.  

 

OPEN SESSION

 

MOTION:   Supervisor Federwitz moved and Supervisor Murphy seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

MOTION:  County Board Chair Koeppen moved and Supervisor Federwitz seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

No public comment.

 

Review and discussion of the monthly HR Department Report on recruitments/terminations, labor relations updates, etc.

 

Review requests for a medical leaves for two employees not eligible for FMLA.  MOTION:  County Board Chair Koeppen moved and Supervisor Murphy seconded the motion to approve six to eight weeks of medical leave for the requesting employee (A.M.).  Motion carried without a negative vote. MOTION:   Supervisor Federwitz moved and Supervisor Murphy seconded the motion to approve the second request for leave for one month for (K.E.).  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

The Committee discussed a request for alternate grade placement request.   MOTION:  Supervisor Murphy moved and County Board Chair Koeppen seconded the motion to deny the request based on internal consistency in initial placement on the wage schedule and the lack of basis for specific unique circumstances.  Motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Discussion regarding process for moving forward with Department Head evaluation process.  Initial review of job descriptions by committee of jurisdiction chairs and HR Committee.

 

MOTION:  Supervisor Murphy moved and County Board Chair Koeppen seconded the motion to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried without a negative vote. 10:30 a.m.
