April 18, 2014 Highway Committee Meeting
Chairman Flease called the regular meeting of the Waupaca County Highway Committee to order at 9:00 a.m. in the Waupaca County Highway Office conference room.
Members present – Chairman Flease, Supervisors Aasen, Jonely, McClone and Much.
Also present: Mike Krueger, Equipment and Facility Superintendant, Jill Lodewegen, Administrative Assistant and Dean Steingraber, Highway Commissioner.
Chairman Flease presented the open meeting statement.
MOTION Jonely/Aasen to approve the minutes of the April 4, 2014 regular Committee Meeting. Passed, voice vote.
MOTION Aasen/Much to approve the April 18, 2014 regular meeting agenda of the Highway Committee. Passed, voice vote.
The Committee members reviewed one (1) bill batch dated April 10, 2014. MOTION Jonely/Aasen to approve the bill batch as presented. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber distributed the Commissioner’s Report which included;
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee approve the Agreement for Construction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the CTH “B” (Canadian National Railroad to Euclid Street) project for $784,614.43. MOTION Aasen/McClone to approve the Agreement for Construction with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the CTH “B” (Canadian National Railroad to Euclid Street) project for $784,614.43. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee approve the following payments for the CTH “E” (Waushara County Line to High Point Ridge) Design/Right of Way project:

MOTION McClone/Much to approve the right of way purchases for the CTH “E” (Waushara County Line to High Point Ridge) project. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee approve the Local Force Account Contract for Paving STH 110 with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for $245,000. Mr. Steingraber recommended advertising for a Preliminary Hiring List for Equipment Operators. MOTION Jonely/Much to advertise for a Preliminary Hiring List for Equipment Operators. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber and Mr. Krueger discussed options and bids for the New London fueling system and recommended that the committee accept the bid from US Petroleum & Equipment for a total of $146,805 MOTION Jonely/McClone to accept the bid from US Petroleum & Equipment for a total of $146,805. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended advertising for Asphaltic Mixture Materials and Surface Treatment. MOTION Aasen/Jonely to advertise for Asphaltic Mixture Materials and Surface Treatment. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended advertising for HP Business Computers and Equipment associated with RTVision. MOTION McClone/Much to advertise for HP Business Computers and Equipment associated with RTVision. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended advertising for a storage building. MOTION Much/Jonely to advertise for a storage building. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee accept the quote from Metal Culverts of $40,028 for two 10’ x 4’10” x 50 Aluminum Box Culverts with Invert, Wingwalls and Headwalls for the CTH “X”, Wolf River/Sturgeon Trail Culvert Replacements. MOTION Aasen/Much to accept quote from Metal Culverts of $40,028 . Passed, voice vote.
