February  7, 2014 Highway Committee Meeting

 

Chairman Flease called the regular meeting of the Waupaca County Highway Committee to order at 9:00 a.m. in the Waupaca County Highway Department office building.

 

Members present – Chairman Flease, Supervisors Aasen and Jonely.  Supervisor Mares and Peterson were excused.

 

Also present:  Steve Lawrence, Foreman, Jill Lodewegen, Administrative Assistant and Dean Steingraber, Highway Commissioner.

 

Chairman Flease presented the open meeting statement.

 

MOTION Jonely/Flease to approve the minutes of the January 24, 2014 regular Committee Meeting.  Passed, voice vote.

 

MOTION Flease/Jonely to approve the February 7, 2014 regular meeting agenda of the Highway Committee.  Passed, voice vote.

 

The Committee members reviewed one (1) bill batch dated February 7, 2014.  MOTION Jonely/Aasen to approve the bill batch as presented.  Passed, voice vote.

 

Mr. Steingraber discussed the Commissioner’s Report.

 

Mr. Steingraber requested that the committee sign a resolution for authorization of sign bond agreement for the performance and maintenance bond for the wet meadow that is being developed on the CTH “T” project. MOTION Jonely/Aasen to sign the resolution for authorization of sign bond agreement for the performance and maintenance bond for the wet meadow that is being developed on the CTH “T” project. Passed, voice vote.

 

Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee drop the residency requirements for field personnel. MOTION Aasen/Jonely to drop the residency requirements for field personnel. Passed, voice vote.

 

Mr. Steingraber requested permission to request RFP’s for additional hardware that will allow the new time keeping software, RTVision to be used by staff.  MOTION Aasen/Jonely to request RFP’s for additional hardware for time keeping software. Passed, voice vote.

 

Mr. Steingraber recommended that a written understanding be drafted with the Waupaca County Information Systems Department to state what they will provide for time keeping hardware services that the Highway Department will be purchasing with their input, as well as their expectations of the Highway Department. MOTION Aasen/Jonely to draft a written understanding between the Waupaca County Information Systems Department and the Waupaca County Highway Department regarding hardware for the time keeping system. Passed, voice vote.

 

 

 

 

Supervisor Aasen and Mr. Lawrence left the meeting.

 

The committee discussed the strategic plan.
