February 24, 2012 Highway Committee Meeting
Chairman Flease called the regular meeting of the Waupaca County Highway Committee to order at 8:30 a.m. in the Waupaca County Courthouse building.
Members present – Chairman Flease, Supervisors Flink, Aasen, and Jonely. Supervisor Mares was excused.
Also present was Dean Steingraber, Highway Commissioner, and Jill Lodewegen, Confidential Administrative Assistant.
Chairman Flease presented the open meeting statement.
MOTION Flink/Jonely to approve the minutes of the February 10, 2012 regular meeting of the Highway Committee. Passed, voice vote.
MOTION Jonely/Flink to approve the Agenda of the February 24, 2012 regular meeting of the Highway Committee as they were presented. Passed, voice vote.
The Committee members reviewed 1 bill batch printout dated 2/16/2012. MOTION Flink/Jonely to approve the bill batch as presented. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber gave the Commissioner’s Report.
There was no action on agenda item 2.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee accept the Radke Contractors Inc bid for $160,895for the Flume Creek Structure widening. MOTION Flink/Jonely to accept the bid for $160,895 from Radke Contractors Inc for the Flume Creek Structure widening. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee accept the three way contract between OMNNI Associates, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Waupaca County Highway Department for the CTH “C” bridge design for $53,943.60 MOTION Flink/Jonely to accept the three way contract between OMNNI Associates, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and Waupaca County Highway Department for the CTH “C” bridge design for $53,943.60. Passed, voice vote.
There was no action on agenda items 5 thru 12.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee accept the bid for new two way radios from Northway Communication, Inc. for $36,603. MOTION Jonely/Flink to accept the bid for new two way radios from Northway Communication, Inc. for $36,603. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended that the committee accept the bid from Pethke Repair Service for chain saw purchases at $600 a unit for 20” blades, $500 a unit for 16” blades and cases $35 each. MOTION Assen/Jonely to accept the bid from Pethke Repair Service for chain saw purchases at $600 a unit for 20” blades, $500 a unit for 16” blades and cases $35 each. Passed, voice vote.
Mr. Steingraber recommended accepting all material bids that were received and allowing staff to accept whichever bid is most advantageous to Waupaca County.
