Meeting Minutes

Monday December 8, 2014

 

      The Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee was called to order by, Vice-Chairman Gary Barrington, at 9:00 am.

 

      Members Present:  DuWayne Federwitz, William Jonely, Robert Flease, Gary Barrington  and Gerald Murphy

 

      Others Present: Andrew Carlin, Eric Halverson

 

      Absent:  Chairman Dick Koeppen

 

      Opening meeting statement was read by Vice-Chairman Gary Barrington

 

      A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Flease to approve the minutes from the October 13, 2014 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

      A motion was made by Supervisor Jonely and seconded by Supervisor Flease to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried.

Andrew Carlin and Eric Halverson presented the report on the following items:

·         Attended Waupaca County Fire Chiefs Association meeting (Manawa)             New Rip and Run notification platform for dispatch and responders

·         Attended WEMA conference in Oshkosh

·         “New Employee Orientation” safety training programs

·         Updating Cameo and WHOPRS with current planning and reporting                facilities

·         Safety training with Most Precious Blood school and New London PD

·         WDUX Breakfast Show – CodeRED promotion

·         CodeRED performance test November 13 @1:00 pm

·         Working with 2 new planning facilities for EPCRA compliance

·         Manawa School District Safety planning site surveys

·         Ebola planning and coordination with Public Health table top exercise

·         Eagle Creek(Weyauwega Hydro Dam) drill

·         Meeting with City of Waupaca – low power public radio station

·         Developing exercise with Portage County

·         30th anniversary of Bhopal India chemical release and start of EPCRA

Director Carlin presented a brief explanation of how the FCC divides frequencies among all users. Public safety is a very small portion. Inter- operability between neighboring counties was discussed in regards to the different frequencies that are being used.

 

A motion was made by Supervisor Jonely and seconded by Supervisor Flease to accept the report as presented. Motion carried.

Next regular meeting of the Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee is scheduled for February 9, 2015 at 9:00 am in the conference room at the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office (room 1129).

·         A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Federwitz to adjourn. Motion carried.
