Meeting Minutes

Monday August 11, 2014

 

      The Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee was called to order by, Chairman Dick Koeppen, at 9:00 am.

 

      Members Present: Chairman Dick Koeppen, DuWayne Federwitz, William Jonely, and Gerald Murphy

 

      Others Present: Andrew Carlin, Eric Halverson

 

      Absent:  Robert Flease and Gary Barrington

 

      Opening meeting statement was read by Chairman Dick Koeppen

 

      A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Jonely to approve the minutes from the June 2, 2014 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

      A motion was made by Supervisor Federwitz and seconded by Supervisor Murphy to approve the amended agenda as written.  Motion carried.

Andrew Carlin and Eric Halverson reported on the following items:

·         Canadian National presentation at EC Regional EM meeting(Bakken               Crude Oil being transported through our county)

·         Conducted  EC Regional Wiscom Radio monthly test

·         Hazmat regular meeting/training at Manawa(physicals were done)

·         Participated in a Tactical Site Survey with the New London School District

·         Continue to work with Courthouse security plan development

·         Attend LEPC quarterly meeting(Saputo Cheese closing)

·         Attended County EMS meeting in New London, Clintonville Ambulance           service is contracting with Manawa

·         CodeRED interviews WFRV and WIN-TV

·         Mobile Command Post to Manawa Rodeo and to Iola Old Car Show

·         Attended Waupaca County Fire Chiefs Association meeting (New London)      Salvation Army is available if needed

·          Flood Evacuation Plan with Zoning and GIS nearing completion

·         WCFFA & MABAS radio training in Fremont

·         HealthCare Coalition workshop presentation, 2014-2015 will be planning         phase

·         Hazmat call in Clintonville, diesel fuel from traffic accident

·         Hazmat call on Little River Road 6000 gallons of manure, 80 gallons of            diesel fuel from farm equipment accident

·         Disaster Declaration application for extreme cold and deep frost damage        initially denied, will be refiled

·         Mobile Command post to Scandinavia Corn Roast and Clintonville                  Firemen’s’ Festival

·         Prepare 2015 budget for approvals. There was a short discussion about funding from the state for the hazmat team.

 

 

A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Federwitz to accept the report as presented. Motion carried.

Chairman Koeppen called role to go into closed session for employee evaluation, motion carried, entered closed session at 9:45. Meeting was called back to open session at 10:00. An elected official’s guide book was distributed for review.

Next regular meeting of the Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee is scheduled for October 13, 2014 at 9:00 am in the conference room at the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office (room 1129).

·         A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Jonely, to adjourn. Motion carried.

·         Meeting adjourned at 10:10.
