Meeting Minutes

Monday February 10, 2014

 

·    The Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee was called to order by, Chairman Dick Koeppen, at 9:02 am.

 

      Members Present: Chairman Dick Koeppen, Vice Chairman Jim Loughrin, Supervisors:  Robert Flease, Gary Barrington, William Jonely and Gerald Murphy

 

      Others Present: Andrew Carlin, Eric Halverson

 

      Absent:  None

 

      Opening meeting statement was read by Chairman Dick Koeppen

 

      A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Murphy to approve the minutes from the December 9, 2013 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

      A motion was made by Supervisor Loughrin and seconded by Supervisor Jonely to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried.

Andrew Carlin and Eric Halverson reported on the following items:

·         MABAS training – Radio Drills with Comm Center (in Comm Center)

·         Attended Waupaca County Fire Chiefs Association meeting (Weyauwega)

·         Containment pools (kits) for fire departments were distributed

·         Updating city and village EOP’s

·         Waupaca County HazMat Team was accepted as a state Level III team

·         Hosted and attended Recovery from Disaster – the Local Governments Role training

·         Working with local C of C on business disaster planning

·         Tour of Agropur in Weyauwega – Hazmat safety review

·         LEPC – review annual items, new members, election of officers

·         Presented “Code Red” to LE committee

·         Will present “Code Red” to County Board in February

·         1st half off site plans completed

·         MABAS card updates complete

·         Weather spotter class April 9th – severe weather programs starting

·         Campground review and updates

·          Severe cold weather, wind chill warning, working with C,V,T officials

·         Developing Public/Private partnership strategies for propane situation

·         Reviewed new aerial mapping vendor with GIS

·         Updating Courthouse emergency procedures

·         Attended WAHMR conference

·         Continuing countywide school safety plans

Supervisor Jonely asked about the status of the radio system upgrade. Carlin states that it still being worked on. It will always be a work in progress, as things are always changing. The next part of the upgrade will look at County Highway repeaters.

Next regular meeting of the Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee is scheduled for April 14, 2014 at 9:00 am in the conference room at the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office (room 1129).

·                     A motion was made by Supervisor Jonely and seconded by Supervisor Flease, to adjourn. Motion carried.
