Meeting Minutes
Monday October 14, 2013
· The Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee was called to order by, Chairman Dick Koeppen, at 9:00 am.
Members Present: Chairman Dick Koeppen, Vice Chairman Jim Loughrin, Supervisors: Robert Flease, Gary Barrington and Gerald Murphy
Others Present: Andrew Carlin, Eric Halverson
Absent: William Jonely
Opening meeting statement was read by Chairman Dick Koeppen
A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Barrington to approve the minutes from the August12, 2013 meeting. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Supervisor Loughrin and seconded by Supervisor Murphy to approve the agenda as written. Motion carried.

Chairman Koeppen opened the meeting to the discussion of the Emergency Management report for August and September
Andrew Carlin and Eric Halverson presented the following items:
· September LEPC meeting – Next meeting at Agropur(this committee Invited)
· Continue with MABAS training – Radio Drills with Comm Center
· How MABAS is used by the responders for pre-planning resources
· Mobile Command Post to Waupaca County Fair – discussed thunderstorm
· Attended Waupaca County Fire Fighters Association meeting
· Command Post to Kids fishing tournament in Fremont
· Portable radio “go packs” ready to go
· Waupaca Schools are progressing with the new safety programs
· Radio show in Shawano for “preparedness month” w/Dick Koeppen
· Radio show WDUX for “preparedness month”
· Wrote an article for the newsletter for the Town of Farmington on winter preparedness
· Hazmat refresher/recertification training – dealing with victims
· Hosted County EMS Directors meeting in EOC
· Changing off-site plan format to Whoprs format
· Updating city and village EOP’s
· Planning exercises with Portage County
· Starting 2014 P.O.W.
· Working with Waushara County on Hazmat exercise in November
Next regular meeting of the Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee is scheduled for December 9, 2013 at 9:00 am in the conference room at the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office.
· A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Barrington, to adjourn. Motion carried.
