Meeting Minutes

Monday June 10, 2013

 

·    The Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee was called to order by, Chairman Dick Koeppen, at 9:05am.

 

      Members Present: Chairman Dick Koeppen, Vice Chairman Jim Loughrin, Supervisors:, Bill Jonely, Robert Flease, Gary Barrington and Gerald Murphy

 

      Others Present: Andrew Carlin, Eric Halverson

 

      Absent:  None

 

 

·    Opening meeting statement was read by Chairman Dick Koeppen

 

·    A motion was made by Supervisor Barrington and seconded by Supervisor Loughrin to approve the minutes from the April 8, 2013 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

·    A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Jonely to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried. 

 

·         Items discussed included:

 

·         Attended Hazmat Team trainings

·         Organizing all County Schools both public and parochial to update their plans and have a consistent plan throughout the county

·         Attended EC Regional Emergency Management meetings (IMT presentation)

·         Attended WE Energies safety training for Emergency Responders

·         Meet with WPS to update power outage procedures and recovery protocol

·         W D U X Breakfast Show severe weather week presentation

·         Attended tornado drill at Waupaca middle School

·         Participated in functional exercise with DHS (regional) long term power outage

·         Participated in tabletop exercise with RMC tornado at Iola Old Car Show

·         Response to Waushara Co, for Hazmat call (unknown substance call) determined to be broken bag of a non-hazardous medical supply

·         Attended Courthouse Safety and Security Committee meeting

·         Sponsored a NWS Weather Spotters training class (Webinar)

·         Hosted MABAS training with all county fire departments, EMS, and dispatch April and May

·         Implemented slow-no-wake ordinance on Wolf River due to high water conditions

·         Meet with Marion Public Works to review Dam Action Plan

·         Completed 1st half P.O.W.

·         Taught ICS for Boy Scouts at Camp Fletcher, Search & Rescue exercise (125 scouts)

·         Attended  “This is Lockdown” seminar, How to develop school  emergency response plan

·         WPS annual meeting and Northcentral Tech tour

·         Threat Liaison Officer training class

·         EPCRA planners workshop

·         Conducted tactical site surveys at all Waupaca schools(4)

·         Updating Courthouse and Sheriff’s Office emergency plans

·         Attended “DARS 360” training with EC Region emergency managers

·         Toured  Fesernius Dialysis Center in Waupaca

·         Changes to LEPC Committee members

·         Planning meeting with Iola Old Car Show group

·         Meeting with Waupaca County PTF (Pat Bruneau) severe weather safety locations

·         Update EPCRA offsite plans

·         Discussion on electrical hazards

·         Next meeting August 12, 2013

 

·                     A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Jonely, to adjourn. Motion carried.
