Emergency Management Committee

Meeting Minutes

Monday August 13, 2012

 

·     The Waupaca County Emergency Management Committee was called to order by, Chairman Dick Koeppen, at 9:00am.

 

      Members Present: Chairman Dick Koeppen, Vice Chairman Jim Loughrin, Supervisors: Robert Flease, Bill Jonely, Gary Barrington and Gerald Murphy

 

      Others Present: Andrew Carlin, Sue Weir and Amanda Welch

 

·     Opening meeting statement was read by Chairman Dick Koeppen

 

·     A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Jonely to approve the minutes from the July 11, 2012 meeting.  Motion carried.

 

·     A motion was made by Supervisor Murphy and seconded by Supervisor Jonely to approve the agenda as written.  Motion carried. 

 

·         Carlin presented the new job description for an EM Deputy Director stating that experience in emergency response and haz-mat were important qualifications. A motion was made by Supervisor Barrington and seconded by supervisor Loughrin to approved the new portion.  Motion carried.

·          

·         Carlin presented the 2013 budget, stating that the increase was due to retirement payout for the present PA.  A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Jonely to pass the budget on to the finance committee. Motion carried.

 

·         Items discussed included:

 

Ø  Mobile Command at Iola Car show

Ø  Farm Tech Days

Ø  Attended Dept Head/Finance, Communications & Policy meetings

Ø  Cutover week for towers

Ø  Job description for Deputy Director position

Ø  Haz-mat Spill at Churny in Weyauwega – received payment ( $1583.05)

Ø  Hazardous Mitigation Planning meetings to all City and Village officials

Ø   “Hold the Dates” for upcoming ICS 300 classes

·         A motion was made by Supervisor Flease and seconded by Supervisor Barrington to adjourn. Motion carried.
