Moved by Herman, seconded by Gerrits, to accept the minutes of the previous meeting as written.  Motion passed.

Job Center Report:  Dick Turner gave a report on the Agency/Center Visits and Activities, with a handout.  Chris Schultz staffs the Resource Room Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.  The number of visitors is down due to less staffing.  Staffing has been reduced because of reduction in WIA funding from the Workforce Development Board (WDB).  Turner reported that Job Service got more funding to serve people on Unemployment Compensation.  They have mandatory sessions that they must attend.  There was no Job Fair this year.  The daily customer visits is averaging 8.5 visits per day.  Most are from Waupaca.

Turner also reported that the WDB is in need of more Board Members.  They need more representation from the Private Sector.  Outagamie County wants to leave the Fox Valley WDB and join the Bay Area WDB.  This must be approved on July 26.  Al Haese is the interim director of the Fox Valley WDB.

Turner also presented the most recent Customer Satisfaction Survey that was conducted on June 12.  The satisfaction remains very high.  Some WDA statistics that were in the report are:

·         23% of visitors are currently employed (less than last year)

·         58% were female

·         90% were hourly pay employees in their current/most recent job

·         Largest age group was 20-29—this is a change from the 40-49 years age group in the past.  Waupaca, however, still showed the largest age group being the equal in 40-49 and age 60+.

W-2 Updates:  Courtney Windorski reported that Danielle, the Job Developer for Waupaca County, has scheduled workshops each Friday at FVTC/Job Center in Waupaca starting July 27.  The will be conducted via the internet using GoToMeeting.  Nicole Davis will be referring many clients.

The Performance Standards data for May and June was reviewed.  Windorski issued a handout showing how Waupaca County is doing compared to the state benchmarks.  The following results were discussed:

Performance Standard

May

June

Educational Attainment

11.8%  needs improvement

10.5%  fail

Customer Satisfaction

4.1 out of 5.0  satisfactory

4.1 out of 5.0 satisfactory

Earnings Stabilization

33.4%  fail

33.4%  fail

Job Entry

9.9%  satisfactory

11.4%  needs improvement

VanKampen requested a chart to show the full year so that trends can be observed.  Windorski will provide that next time.

Caseload:  There are approximately 57 W-2 cases at the current time.  Of these, about 19 are W2T, 8 are CMC, 2 are CMU/CMF, and 28 CSJ.

The future of W-2 and the Steering Committee was discussed.  The Request for Proposal required bids to be submitted by June 11.  The results will hopefully be available in August.  Whoever gets the contract, the Steering Committee will no longer be the same.  The new agency will need to appoint its own Steering Committee.   This committee also serves as the Job Center Advisory Committee.  The Workforce Development Board will need to decide what to do about that in 2013.  Once a new W-2 Agency is announced, some transition planning will need to be done.  More will be reported at future meetings.

Job Skills Workshops:  The Job Center has not offered these this year because of Chris Schultz having her hours cut back.  There has been no opportunity to do the live video feed to link into other Job Centers who are doing workshops because FVTC did not have the equipment available at the right times.

Next Meeting:  September 26 at 3:00 at FVTC.
