Waupaca County Committee on Aging Meeting Minutes

February 10, 2015

Present: Janice Lytie, Patricia Craig, Mary Kay Poehlman, Ken Renning

Members Excused: Kay Anderson, Wayne Laux

Others Present: Darlene Kramer, Shannon Kelly, Linda Bowman

 

Meet of the committee on Aging was called to order at: 1:00PM

 

I.          Motion by Ken Renning, second by Janice Lytie to approve agenda.  Motion carried.

 

II.         There was no quorum for meeting on January 27, 2015, therefore, no actions or minutes taken.    

 

Public Comment –   None

 

III.       Copies of last year’s goals were distributed for review. The committee will meet next month to approve.

 

IV.       Nutrition Advisory Council Requirements were distributed to group. Requirements state that the Nutrition Advisory Council should be separate from any other committee. Therefore the Nutrition Advisory Council will not be a part of the COA. Shannon Kelly met with Nutrition site managers there was discussion about signage and public relations, to raise awareness about meal sites. Janice Lytie addressed the concern about meals not being balanced or proportioned to meet State guidelines

 

a.       Copies of the COA Job descriptions were passed around and discussed, as well as the hiring procedures for the ADRC manager. Shannon Kelly will connect with the Human Resource department to inquire how much information can be divulged regarding terminations/resignations. The committee would like to support the new ADRC – Manager in their new role.

                               

b.      The committee agreed set the 2015 meeting dates and agreed to meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month, with the exception of a meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2015

 

V.  Prevention

 

             c. THRIVES/Spring program-  Volunteers are trained; schedules are out for spring classes, which are posted on the ADRC website. Fees, Hotel, transportation are provided for volunteers. DHHS is always looking for more volunteers particularly for transportation and prevention classes.

 

Transportation advisory committee, updates were given on the following:

i.                     5304 mobility manager study

ii.                   5310 vehicle grant

iii.                  8521 application was completed and reviewed December 2014

iv.                 2015 Meeting dates as follows:  March 10, May 26, July 28, September 22 and November 24 at 9:00am – Waupaca County Courthouse room - 1068

 

VI.          Next meeting is March 10, 2015 at 1:00pm, Waupaca County Court House

 

Motion and second made to adjourn meeting at 2:01PM, Motion carried.
