CIP IMPACT COMMITTEE

May 11, 2011 – Informational Road trip

Chair DuWayne Federwitz called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. and read the open meeting statement.

 

Members Present:  Suprs. DuWayne Federwitz, Paul Hagen, Joe McClone, Jim Boyer, Darrell Handrich and Don Morgan, all members present. Others Present:  Hwy. Commissioner Dean Steingraber.

 

Review and Approve Agenda:   Motion:  Supr. McClone moved and Supr. Hagen seconded the motion to approve the agenda.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Review and Approve Minutes of the previous meeting:  Motion:  Supr. McClone moved and Supr. Handrich seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the April meeting.  The motion carried without a negative vote.

 

Road Trip:   Steingraber conducted a tour of County Road X, County Road F, County Road D, County Road T, County Road O, County Road I, County Road G, County Road C, County Road J.

 

Steingraber presented a map (see enclosed) detailing the year highway segments were constructed, the mileage, and the cost to construct.  Steingraber detailed the year highway segments are planned to be constructed, the mileage, and the estimated cost to construct in accordance with the current ten year highway improvement plan. 

 

Steingraber explained that there are many factors that go into determining how a highway is improved and where it fits into the plan.  Pavement conditions, soil conditions, overall traffic counts, truck traffic counts, accident history, horizontal and vertical geometrics, functional classification, future planning, and funding opportunities.
