MINUTES
EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE
DATE AND TIME: Monday, December 15, 2014 – 8:30am
PLACE: Room 1037, Waupaca County Courthouse
811 Harding Street, Waupaca, WI
1. Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement was read by Supervisor Kietzmann at 8:30am.
2. Roll call was conducted by Supervisor Kietzmann. Present were: Supervisors Kietzmann, Peterson, Handrich, Neumann, Ellis.
Also present were UW-Educators Greg Blonde, Penny Tank, Christi Beilfuss and Sandy Liang.
Absent: Connie Abert – excused.
3. Review and accept Agenda
Motion by Handrich to accept Agenda; Second by Ellis; approved unanimously.
4. Review previous meeting minutes
Motion by Ellis to accept minutes from November 17 meeting; Second by Peterson; approved unanimously.
5. Educator Reports
· Current Program and Outcomes
Reports from all educators were provided.
· Educator Reports
Sandy reported on her “eParenting High Tech Kids” which she taught in partnership with Family Resource Center. Sandy shared an overview of the class and PowerPoint slides used in teaching. Sandy also showed her work Facebook page and how she uses this as an educational tool.
6. Old Business
· Department Head Report
Penny gave highlights for the past month.
· Budget update
End of year purchasing, truck doors being painted, and looking at other equipment needs.
· CNRED update
Jessica Beckendorf will be starting December 22, plan to do formal announcement after January 1st.
7. New Business
· Technology Award
We will be receiving, at no cost, a TV, computer and webcam from the state to encourage technology use. This was a first-come; first-serve offer for 15 counties.
· National JCEP and PILD Conference
Penny will be attending the Joint Council of Extension Professionals (JCEP) Conference in Las Vegas in February and the Public Issues in Leadership Development (PILD) Conference in Washington, DC in April. Both will be reimbursed by WAE4-HYDP.
