GOVERNMENTAL BODY:          WAUPACA COUNTY AGRICULTURE AND

EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE

DATE AND TIME:                          Wednesday, June 11, 2014 – 8:30am

PLACE:                                             Room 1016, Waupaca County Courthouse

                                                            811 Harding Street, Waupaca, WI

OPEN SESSION:  This meeting and all other meetings are open to the public.  Proper notice has been posted and given to the press, in accordance with Wisconsin statutes so that the citizens may be aware of the time, place, and agenda of this meeting.

1. Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement – Kietzmann

Supervisor Kietzmann called the meeting to oder at 8:32am. 

2. Roll call – Kietzmann

Present were Supervisors Kietzmann, Handrich, Trinrud, Ellis, Neumann (left at 8:57am). 

Also present were: Christi Beilfuss, Connie Abert, Penny Tank, Greg Blonde, Sandy Liang, and Mike Koles.

3. Review and accept Agenda  - Kietzmann

Motion to accept the agenda was made by Handrich; Second: Neumann; Approved unanimously.

4. New Business

· Discussion of CNRED position

Ø Tom indicated that the posting schedule would allow for an early August posting; the posting lasts 4-5 weeks; then preliminary interviews in mid-to-late September; then final interviews in late September/early October; then start date dependent upon new hire availability for start date. 

Ø If it is affordable we want to keep the salary as high as possible with the obvious experience considerations.

Ø Office will work with Tom on developing visioning or mini-visioning session in mid-July.

· Discussion of Department Head position

· The committee will adjourn to closed session pursuant to the exemption in section 19.85(1)(c) Wisconsin Statutes for the sole purpose of discussing appointment of Department Head.  The meeting will reconvene from closed session.
