EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE
DATE AND TIME: Monday, May 19, 2014 – 8:30am
PLACE: Room 1037, Waupaca County Courthouse

1. Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement
Supervisor Kietzmann call the meeting to order at 8:30am.
2. Roll call
Present were: Supervisors Kietzmann, Neumann, Trinrud, Handrich and Ellis.
Also present were: Christi Beilfuss, Connie Abert, Greg Blonde, Sandy Liang, Mike Koles, Penny Tank (arrived at 8:33am)
3. Review and accept Agenda
Motion by Neumann; Second: Ellis; Approved unanimously.
4. Review previous meeting minutes
Motion made to accept April’s minutes by Handrich; Second: Ellis; Approved unanimously.
5. Educator Reports
· Current Program and Outcomes – all educators
Each educator provided reports.
· Educator Reports – Christi
Christi reported on what her job entailed generally and also provided an overview of a lesson. A healthy discussion followed her presentation.
· Department Head Report
Mike reported on the County Leadership Conference.
6. Old Business
· WACEC
Dave and Carl indicated they would be attending.
· County Board Tour
The tour planning is coming along well. First stop will be at the Bear Creek Town Hall to talk about 4-H service projects; followed by a garden and nutrition discussion at Olen Park in Clintonville; followed by a tour of Specialized Products; followed by a rolling economic development tour of Clintonville.
· County Board Orientation
This will take place after Extension Committee Meeting in an upcoming month.
7. New Business
· WNEP Intern
Christi provided information on a WNEP intern.
· 4-H Intern
Penny provided information on a 4-H intern.
8. Correspondence
· UWEX Speaker Funding
9. Public Input
None
10. The committee will adjourn to closed session pursuant to the exemption in section 19.85(1)(c) Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of discussing employee performance and compensation. The meeting will reconvene from closed session.
Motion to adjourn into closed session pursuant to the exemption in section 19.85(1) Wisconsin Statues for the sole purpose of discussion of Extension educator’s performance review made by Ellis; Second: Handrich; Roll call: Trinrud – aye, Kietzmann – aye, Neumann – aye, Ellis – aye, Handrich – aye.
