EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE

1. Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement – Peterson
Supervisor Peterson called the meeting to order at 8:31am.
2. Roll call – Peterson
Present were: Supervisors Peterson, Handrich, Kietzmann, Neumann, Loughrin
Also present were: Christi Beilfuss, Connie Abert, Greg Blonde, Sandy Liang, Penny Tank
Absent: Mike Koles (excused)
3. Review previous meeting minutes – Peterson
Motion to correct December’s minutes to read: “3. Review previous meeting minutes – Motion to accept October’s minutes was made by Handrich; Second: Loughrin: Approved unanimously.”
Motion to accept corrected December minutes was made by Handrich; Second: Loughrin; Approved unanimously.
4. Review and accept Agenda
Motion: Neumann; Second: Handrich; Approved unanimously.

6. Educator Reports
· Current Program and Outcomes
All Educators, except Mike Koles provided reports
· Educator Reports – Connie Abert
Connie provided an educational session on the new grant from the Center for Disease Control and WI Department of Health Services. This grant concentrates on improving healthy environments in our communities. UWEX will be conducting assessments and healthy environmental strategies with local government about active environments, local businesses about healthy nutrition options and local growers about access to EBT.
· Department Head Report – Abert
Connie distributed WACEC invitations, agenda and RSVP cards to all supervisors. Don is planning on attending but also has a highway meeting that same day.

· Printer/Copier Update
Update on repairs for the new printer was given.
8. New Business
WACEC – Mike will go, it is in Wausau at the Grand Lodge.
