EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE
DATE AND TIME: Monday, August 19, 2013 – 8:30am

1. Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement – Peterson
Supervisor Peterson called the meeting to order.
2. Roll call – Peterson
Present were Peterson, Kietzmann, Neumann, Handrich, Loughrin.
Also present: Greg Blonde, Caitlin Mork, Connie Abert, Penny Tank, Mike Koles, Dan Boerst – area farmer and president of Waupaca County Forage Council.
3. Review previous meeting minutes – Peterson
Motion: Handrich; Second: Kietzmann; Approved unanimously.
4. Review and accept Agenda
Motion: Loughrin; Second: Neumann; Approved unanimously.
5. Public Input
None
6. Educator Reports
· Current Program and Outcomes – all educators
All educators provided reports
· Educator Reports – Greg Blonde
Greg presented on the Forage Council and Midwest Forage Association. Dan Boerst’s farm and research plot efforts were highlighted.
· Department Head Report - Koles
Mike reported on support staff success in saving money on folding machine and printer. We’ll need a new printer to replace 2200 in near future.
7. Unfinished Business
· Family Living Recruitment
We had one candidate pull out of the interviews. A one candidate interview comes with pros and cons. Don and Mike talked about these and Don decided to move forward with the interview.
· WNEP Recruitment
Four candidates for preliminary interviews will take place on Wednesday, August 21. Finals need to be on the August 29th due to two candidates also being in the pool for the Americorps positions.
· Americorps Grant Update
Connie received the grant for 2 positions. One is focused on nutrition education and the other on collaboration with farmers and schools.
8. New Business
· 2014 Budget
Motion to approve proposed budget: Kietzmann; Second: Handrich; Approved unanimously.

· Family Living Final Interviews…..Tuesday, August 20, 2013.
· WNEP Final Interviews
These will be August 29th, times to be determined.
