GOVERNMENTAL BODY:          WAUPACA COUNTY AGRICULTURE AND

                                                            EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE

 

DATE AND TIME:                          Monday, June 24, 2013 – 8:30am

 

PLACE:                                             Room 1037, Waupaca County Courthouse

                                                            811 Harding Street, Waupaca, WI

 

OPEN SESSION:  This meeting and all other meetings are open to the public.  Proper notice has been posted and given to the press, in accordance with Wisconsin statutes so that the citizens may be aware of the time, place, and agenda of this meeting.

 

1.            Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement – Peterson

Supervisor Peterson called the meeting to order at 8:32am.

 

2.            Roll call – Peterson

Present were Peterson, Handrich, Neumann, Kietzmann, and Loughrin.

 

Others present: Penny Tank, Greg Blonde, Caitlin Mork, Mike Koles (arrived at 8:42am).

Connie Abert was absent (excused).

 

3.            Review previous meeting minutes  – Peterson

Motion: Kietzmann; Second: Handrich; Approved unanimously.

 

4.            Review and accept Agenda  

Motion: Loughrin; Second: Neumann ; Approved unanimously.

 

5.            Public Input   

None

 

6.            Educator Reports

·         Current Program and Outcomes – all educators

Educators Tank, Blonde, Mork and Koles all shared highlights and comments on individual reports.  Supervisor Neumann discussed the importance of nutrition for 3rd graders going to grocery store tours listed on Mork’s report.  Supervisor Neumann was happy to see this in programming.

·         Educator Reports – Koles

Koles reported on the Sand Mine, Foundry Economic Impact Analysis.

·         Department Head Report - Koles

7.            Unfinished Business

·         County Board Tour

County Board Tour:  nice, good, and informative.  Supervisor Neumann commented that the tours are good for County Board members to see rest of county.

·         FLE Position

Applications that came in were 13 those were narrowed down to 8 and then only 3; Extended recruitment.

Motion:  Handrich; Second: Kitzmann; Approved unanimously with the exception of Loughrin who had to leave early.
