GOVERNMENTAL BODY:          WAUPACA COUNTY AGRICULTURE AND

EXTENSION EDUCATION COMMITTEE

DATE AND TIME:                          Monday, December 17, 2012 – 8:30 a.m.

PLACE:                                             Room 1037, Waupaca County Courthouse

                                                            811 Harding Street, Waupaca, WI

OPEN SESSION:  This meeting and all other meetings are open to the public.  Proper notice has been posted and given to the press, in accordance with Wisconsin statutes so that the citizens may be aware of the time, place, and agenda of this meeting.

1. Call meeting to order and Open Meeting Statement – Peterson

Supervisor Don Peterson called the meeting to order at 8:33a.m.

2. Roll call

Loughrin, Peterson, Handrich

Others present:  Mike Koles, Greg Blonde, Alyson Bechard, Marilyn Herman, Ann Keim (FL Assistant Program Leader), Helen Heise, Cheryl Jansen, Penny Tank came at 8:42 a.m.

3. Review previous meeting minutes -

October meeting minutes were approved.  Motion:  Loughrin; Second:  Handrich; Motion carried unanimously.

4. Review and accept Agenda  

Motion:  Handrich; Second:  Kietzmann; Motion carried unanimously.

5. Public Input
Marilyn Herman introduced Heise and Jansen as being part of her report and all in attendance proceeded to introduce themselves.

6. Educator Reports

· Current Programs and Outcomes

All educators provided reports.

· Educator Reports

Marilyn Herman provided a year end and career end report.  Heise and Jansen assisted and focused on the HCE portion of Marilyn’s work.  Ann Keim presented a certificate of appreciation to Marilyn recognizing almost 4 decades of Extension work in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

· Department Head Report
Koles noted the resignation of Carrie Koehn and informed the committee of the tentative refilling schedule, which is set to begin after the holidays.

7. Unfinished Business

· All members of the committee will be attending WACEC.  Mike will take care of registration for them.

8. New Business

· Vice Chair Election
Handrich nominated Loughrin for Vice Chair.  Following three calls by Peterson for additional nominations, of which there were none, Handrich made a motion to cast a unanimous ballot for Loughrin and Peterson seconded the motion.  Loughrin was elected 2 – 0 with Loughrin abstaining.

· Koles provided a tentative 2013 schedule.  A final schedule will be provided in January.

Motion:  Handrich; Second: Loughrin; Motion carried unanimously.
