Minutes for October 22 , 2014

 

1. 7:30 am called to order

 

2.  Roll Call:

Present: Pastor Greg Watling, Bill Lipschultz, Sherry Fisher, Laurie Schmidt, Mary Lea St. Thomas, John Snider, D.A.,   Connie Abert, Officer Bret Rodenz, Officer Mark Zachow, Clif Morton, Terry Taylor, Hon. Judge Vickie Clausmann

Excused:  Kasey Kaepernick, Joyce Boyer

 

3. Open Meeting Statement was completed.

 

4. Sherry Fisher moved to approve the agenda, second by Mark Zachow, motion carried.

 

5.  Bill Lipschultz made a motion to accept the September meeting minutes, second by Mark Zachow, motion carried.

 

6. The treasurer report is as follows:  Savings Account $1,671.51 and checking account $393.70.  Mary Lea St. Thomas  made a motion to approve the treasurers report, second by Laurie Schmidt, motion carried.

 

7. MOU - One school district and one law enforcement agency has not signed the MOU.  Suggestion was made that the next review/update of the MOU includes hospitals and mental health facilities.

 

8.  Educational Session Discussion: 

·         Our educational session will be on November 7, 2014 at the Masonic Temple in Manawa.  Food will be provided by Chris Mollica (member of the Masonic order).  He will serve sandwiches, veggies, chips, fruit, dessert, etc.  Note that Marinette County will be in attendance, and will stay after for a discussion.

 

9.  Election/Nomination of Board Members:  Connie advised the committee to be thinking of nominations for the Board. 

 

10.  Membership:  John Snider made a motion to accept  Judge Vickie Claussman (replacing Judge John Hoffman) as a member, second by Mary Lea St. Thomas.  Motion carried.        

 

11.  Roundtable Sharing - October 8 - CHAT - Mental Health Plunge - two hospitals will participate. 

John Snider stated that pawn brokers are being assertive in regard to return of seized property.

Shop for a COP will be collecting gifts for 20 families (parents and children).  There is no age limit.  Contact Cameron Durant to donate or assist.

October is Domestic Violence Month.

Bill Lipschultz reported that the Rotary approved $400 donation for the Heroin Summit.  He also stated that Crime Stoppers will be doing fund raisers at Culver's and The King's Table.  Their continued support is greatly appreciated.

Bret reported very few Quick 50's so far this year at the Waupaca High School.

Mark Zachow noted that Sherry Fisher gave a presentation on Other Tobacco Products and E-Cigarettes at the September Neighborhood Watch meeting.

Bret made mention of a string of burglaries in Waupaca and Marion.  He recommended extra safety precautions.

Terry Taylor invited all of us to the Let's Talk About It Fox Valley 2 program being held at Kaukauna High School Auditorium on November 12, 2014.  The resource fair begins at 6:00 pm and the presentation begins at 6:30 pm.  Mental Health is as important as physical health.   

 

12. Mary Lea St. Thomas made a motion to adjourn, second by Sherry Fisher, motion carried.  Adjourned at 8:35am.
