Minutes for September 24 , 2014

 

 

1. 7:30 am called to order

 

2.  Roll Call:

Present: Pastor Greg Watling, Bill Lipschultz, Sherry Fisher, Kasey Kaepernick, Joyce Boyer, Laurie Schmidt, Mary Lea St. Thomas, John Snider, D.A., Mary Anich, Officer Mark Zachow, Connie Abert, Officer Bret Rodenz, John Snider, D.A.

Excused:  Terry Taylor, Clif Morton

 

3. Open Meeting Statement was completed.

 

4. Joyce Boyer moved to approve the agenda, second by John Snider, motion carried.

 

5.  Joyce Boyer made a motion to accept the August meeting minutes with a correction, second by Bill Lipschultz, motion carried.

 

6. The treasurer report is as follows:  Savings Account $1,662.46 and checking account $393.70.  Laurie Schmidt made a motion to approve the treasurers report, second by John Snider, motion carried.

 

7. MOU - One school district and one law enforcement agency that has not signed the MOU.

 

8.  Educational Session Discussion: 

·         Our educational session will be on November 7, 2014 at the Masonic Temple in Manawa.  The brochure is completed and Connie will send to her large database and also distribute to members so that members can  invite.   Connie and Mary Lea to arrange for the food.  It was agreed that a $10 fee per individual will be enough to cover the costs of the summit.  Posters will be available also.

 

9.  Election/Nomination of Board Members:  Connie advised the committee to be thinking of nominations for the Board. 

 

10.  Membership:  In the near future, Judge Vickie Claussman will be replacing Judge John Hoffman.  Mary Lea St. Thomas  made a motion to remove Ashlee Smith from our membership roll but continue to send her our agenda and minutes, second by Joyce Boyer.  Motion carried.        

 

11.  Roundtable Sharing - October 8 - CHAT - Mental Health Plunge - two hospitals will participate. 

Joyce Boyer attended the State convention for Juvenile Justice - Treatment Alternative Diversions.  The goal is to keep one time offenders from becoming repeaters.

9-27-14 is National Drug Take Back Day.

Shop for a COP will be collecting gifts for 20 families (parents and children).  There is no age limit.  Contact Cameron Durant to donate or assist.

 

12. Greg Watling made a motion to adjourn, second by Mark Zachow, motion carried.  Adjourned at 8:47am.

 

 Next Meeting:  Wed., Oct. 22 in the D.A. conference room/Courthouse at 7:30 am.

*Kasey Kaepernick will be excused for the October meeting.
