Minutes for July 25, 2014

 

 

1. 7:35 am called to order

 

2.  Roll Call:

Present: Pastor Greg Watling, Bill Lipschultz, Sherry Fisher, Clif Morton, Kasey Kaepernick, Joyce Boyer, John Thiel, Laurie Schmidt, Mary Lea St. Thomas, John Snider, D.A., Chuck Price, DHHS Director, Sherry Fisher

Excused:  Mark Zachow

 

3. Open Meeting Statement was completed.  Introductions were done.

 

4. Joyce Boyer moved to approve the agenda, second by Greg Watling, motion carried.

 

5.  Joyce Boyer made a motion to accept the June meeting minutes with two corrections, second by Greg Watling, motion carried.

 

6. The treasurer report is as follows:  Savings Account $1,603.30 and checking account $393.70.  Joyce Boyer made a motion to approve the treasurers report, second by Greg Watling, motion carried.

 

7. MOU - There is to date, one school district that has not signed the MOU.

 

8.  Educational Session Discussion: 

·         It was agreed that our educational session will be on November 7, 2014 at the Masonic Temple in Manawa.  Mary Lea to contact Mark Zachow to reserve the Masonic Temple and Connie will draft a brochure.  Joyce Boyer made a motion to contact Rise Together to present at the Nov. 7 educational session, second by Bill Lipschultz.  Motion carried.

 

9.  Election/Nomination of Board Members:  Tabled at this time.

 

10.  Membership:  In the near future, Judge Vickie Claussman will be replacing Judge John Hoffman.

 

11.  Roundtable Sharing -  

Clif Morton shared that on the afternoon of August 20, 2014, 1-3 pm, a ground breaking for Eco Park will be held. 

Eco Park and Fresh Start Program connects kids with jobs. 

Chuck Price shared that he is interested in information and resources from out committee.  He has been selected to be involved with the current heroin abuse issues. 

Bill Lipschultz continues with the formation of a mentoring program involving private individuals, Rotary, school systems, Big Brothers and Sisters, 9 local businesses in Waupaca and 7 in New London.

John Snider shared that Veronica Isherwood is Vickie Claussman's replacement in the D.A. office and that his new secretary had a baby.  

 

12. Greg Watling made a motion to adjourn, second by Joyce Boyer, motion carried.  Adjourned at 8:05am.

 

 Next Meeting:  Wed., Aug. 27th in the D.A. conference room/Courthouse at 7:30 am.

*Laurie Schmidt will be excused for the 8-27-14 meeting.
