Minutes for March 27, 2013

 

Present: Clintonville Police Officer, Mark Zachow, Mary Anich, Terry Taylor, Pastor Greg Watling, Hon. Judge Hoffman, Mary Kay Poehlman, Connie Abert, MaryLea St. Thomas, Bill Lipschultz, Sherry Fisher

 

1.  7:30 AM call to order by Connie Abert. 

2.  Roll Call

3.  It was noted that the meeting had been properly advertised and posted.

 

4.  Motion to approve agenda, as amended, by Bill Lipschultz, 2nd by Greg Watling.  Motion carried.

5.  Motion to approve the February 2013 meeting minutes, by Mark Zachow, second by Judge Hoffman.   Motion carried.

6.  Treasurer’s report:  Checking account $413.70.  Savings Account $830.00.  Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by MaryLea St. Thomas, second by Judge Hoffman.  Motion carried.  The 2012 annual report is complete and a review was done.

 

7.  Information Sharing Program/MOU:  To be placed on the April agenda.

 

8. Educational Session Wrap Up:  A presentation on Internet Safety was the topic at the sharing Day on Friday, March 9 or Friday, March 15, 2013.  There were approximately 25 attendees.

Bill asked if we would include the Waupaca Chamber of Commerce in future educations sharing events.

 

9.  Proposed Legislation discussion:  Connie is to send out a proposed legislation (AB 74) for review and discussion at our April meeting.

 

10.  After discussion a motion was made by Judge Hoffman to change our mission statement to read:  Waupaca County Advisory Committee on Criminal Justice’s mission is to prevent crime.  This countywide interagency coalition addresses delinquent and criminal behaviors by providing educational in-services, encouraging information sharing, and supporting effective and best practice programs, second by Greg Watling.  Motion carried.

 

11.  Membership:  Cliff Morton is the new CAP services Fresh Start manager and he states he will become a member of WCACCJ.

 

12.  Roundtable Sharing: 

Sherry Fisher stated that the Legislators will be holding their Joint Finance Committee meetings around the state and asked if anyone would be interested in volunteering to attend or write a letter.

Greg Watling shared that the Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation will sponsor a 2 day seminar on mental health and alcohol addiction.

Judge Hoffman will be doing his prom presentation at the Waupaca High School.

MaryLea St. Thomas said that John Luzniky will be presenting on April 25.

Mark Zachow said that the NIC Foundation presentation will be held in Clintonville.  Mark does Net Smartz with the Clintonville second and fourth graders.

Connie Abert will be attending the Crime Justice Workshop next month.

Bill Lipschultz and Brian Hoelzel will be attending the WI State Crime Stoppers Convention.  He also mentioned the Tip Soft program and building Facebook, etc. for Crime Stoppers.

 

13. Next Meeting April 24, 2013 at 7:30 AM in the D.A. Conference Room.   

 

Motion to adjourn by Judge Hoffman, second by Pastor Greg Watling.    Motion carried.
