Minutes for July 25, 2012

 

Present: D.A. John Snider, Sherry Fisher, Clintonville Police Officer, Mark Zachow, Mary Kay Poehlman, Terry Taylor, Mary Anich, Connie Abert, intern Caitlin Jezwinski, intern Jessica Linsmeier

 

1.  7:35 AM call to order by Connie Abert.

2.  Roll Call

3.  It was noted that the meeting had been properly advertised and posted.

4.  Motion to approve agenda by John Snider, 2nd by Sherry Fisher.  Motion carried.

5.  Motion to approve the June 27, 2012 meeting minutes John Snider, second by Mark Zachow.   Motion carried.

6.  Treasurer’s report:  Checking account $413.70.  Savings Account $630.52.  Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by John Snider, 2nd Mary Kay Poehlman.  Motion carried. 

a)  Grants:  NL School, Waupaca Crime Stoppers, and Parents Who Host Lose the Most have completed their reports and Connie will contact Clintonville Police Chief, Terry Lorge.

 

7.  Information Sharing Program/MOU – New Legislation has been passed that allows agencies that work with children to share pertinent and appropriate information with MOU signatures.  Connie will create individual signature sheets and will disperse these to school administrators, police chiefs and county department heads.

 

8.  Discussion took place regarding a fall educational program, possibly a Thursday or Friday at the beginning of December.  It was noted that Health First (WI state program) is trying to change legislation on underage drinking:  1)Parents not allowed to serve their children. 2) sales tax increase, and 3)sobriety check points.

 

9.   Best Practice Programs:  Community Action For Healthy Living was awarded from the WI State Tobacco Prevention and Control Program $160,000 for 2 years to educate regarding Other Tobacco Products (OTP) and Smoke Free Multi-Unit Housing in Outagamie County.

 

10.  Membership: Ongoing.

 

11.  Roundtable:

Waupaca County is offering Trauma Informed Care (TIC) training.

Clintonville Police Department is having an Open House for the public to see their new facility.

Mark noted that 2 police officers are retiring. 

 

12. Next Meeting August 22, 2012 at 7:30 AM in the D.A. Conference Room.
