Minutes for June 27, 2012

 

Present: MaryLea St. Thomas, D.A. John Snider, Sherry Fisher, Pastor Greg Watling, Clintonville Police Officer, Mark Zachow, Mary Kay Poehlman, Terry Taylor, Connie Abert, intern Caitlin Jezwinski, intern Jessica Linsmeier

 

1.  7:35 AM call to order by Connie Abert.

2.  Roll Call

3.  It was noted that the meeting had been properly advertised and posted.

4.  Motion to approve agenda by John Snider, 2nd by Greg Watling.  Motion carried.

5.  Motion to approve the May 23, 2012 meeting minutes, with correction of Connie Abert’s name) by MaryLea St. Thomas, 2nd by John Snider.   Motion carried.

6.  Treasurer’s report:  Checking account $413.70.  Savings Account $567.07.  Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by John Snider, 2nd by MaryLea St. Thomas.  Motion carried. 

a)  Grants:  Connie is to request a report from 2 of this years’grant recipients.

 

7.  Information Sharing Program/MOU –Will contact schools in August regarding the MOUs.

8.  Proposed legislation discussion:  A discussion took place regarding a Two Rivers ordinance to enter a home that is hosting an underage drinking party without a search warrant.  Connie to forward information to the police chiefs in Waupaca County.  Will discuss in August.

 

9.   Best Practice Programs:  Teen Court will be removed from the agenda. 

 

10.  Membership: Ongoing –  Bernie Kocher, citizen representative, submitted his resignation from WCACCJ due to many other commitments.  John Snider made a motion to accept Bernie’s resignation, with regret, second by Greg Watling.  Motion carried.

 

11.  Roundtable:

a.   Caitlyn reported that the Community Transfer Grant was completed and submitted.

b.   Terry Taylor shared that Waupaca students were receiving AODA counseling due to a drug bust in the school

c.    Mark Zachow shared that the Neighborhood Watch meeting was held at the new Clintonville Police Department. 

d.    Jessica Linsmeier took part in a webinar with the Criminal Justice System.  It is suggested that incarcerated adults (parents) should be closer to their children.

e.   Due to reduction in Funds, SAVE (Sexual Assault Victims Services) has lost an employee.

f.    It was stated that a forensic interview room may be housed at the New London Police Dept.

g.    A Walk/Run for Journies Shelter is planned.  Connie Abert to send out the information.

h.    A benefit dance is going to be held in honor of the deceased Cora Jones.

 

12. Next Meeting July 25, 2012 at 7:30 AM in the D.A. Conference Room.
