Minutes for May 23, 2012

 

Present: MaryLea St. Thomas, D.A. John Snider, Sherry Fisher, Hon. Judge Hoffman, Pastor Greg Watling, Clintonville Police Officer, Mark Zachow, Mary Kay Poehlman, Connie Abert, new intern Caitlin Jezwinski

1.  7:35 AM call to order by Connie Abert.

2.  Roll Call

3.  It was noted that the meeting had been properly advertised and posted.

4.  Motion to approve agenda by John Snider, 2nd by Greg Watling.  Motion carried.

5.  Motion to approve the April 25, 2012 meeting minutes by Greg Watling, 2nd by Mark Zachow.   motion carried.

6.  Treasurer’s report:  Checking account $413.70.  Savings Account $567.07.

Motion to approve the treasurer’s report by John Snider, 2nd by MaryLea St. Thomas.  Motion carried. 

a)  Grants:  Connie is to contact the 4 recipients of this years’ grants for a report.

           

7.  Information Sharing Program/MOU –Will contact schools in the fall regarding the MOUs.

8.  Proposed legislation discussion:  A discussion took place regarding an Two Rivers ordinance to enter a home that is hosting an underage drinking party without a search warrant.  Connie to forward information to the police chiefs in Waupaca County.

10.  Membership: Ongoing – Mary Kay Poehlman will be the representative from Waupaca County Board replacing Terry Murphy.  A motion was made by John Snider, 2nd by MaryLea St. Thomas to accept Mary Kay on our membership roll.  Motion carried.

Caitlin Jezwinski was introduced.  Caitlin is completing an AHAC internship.

11.Roundtable:

a.   Greg Watling shared that he was part of a New London School project where community members come in and help students with the interview process.  Pastor Greg invited other members to volunteer to help with this, as representation from different professions will benefit the students.  He was asked to remind our committee when next year’s is being held.

b.   It was noted that Parents Who Host Lose the Most posters are posted throughout the county.

c.    Judge Hoffman stated that he did prom presentations at Waupaca and Manawa and was present at the video presentation (designed by students as an education tool for their peers).

d.   MaryLea attended a conference on social media.

e.   Officer Mark Zachow participated in the Net Smartz program.
